It’s tough to find mid-layers that are not too hot and not too cold. If you are like me, you are always trying to find that perfect balance of layering for riding. Klim makes that MUCH easier with all their options, and my favorite new piece is the layering Inferno pant. I tested a gray pair of these last year, and I could literally ride sleds, dig myself out when I got stuck, go running around the trailers, even trek through the woods hunting for that elusive deer I thought I shot … and more! Yet I was still totally comfortable in these pants. They are just warm enough to wear without other layering on fall days, and yet cool enough to do strenuous activity without getting “swampy.” (Anyone who has ever gotten too hot riding sleds knows what I’m talking about.) Breathable, durable, fleece-lined and just plain comfy, these were a hit for me. Plus, they have pockets, but don’t look like the ugly cargo pants from my favorite 1987 MacGyver episode. Price is a little steep, but they’re worth it.
Cost: $89.99
