The VSHA still has one race left in the season

The Vintage Snowmobile Hillclimb Association (VSHA) held its Points Championship event April 2 at Pine Creek Ski Resort in Cokeville, WY.

Following the trend for the season, there was a larger turnout for this race than the previous ones with about 45 participants. The course started out really hard in the morning, but the day ended with really soft snow that caused the Leaf Spring sleds to struggle in finding traction. The high was in the mid 50s degrees F and it was sunny.

Each racer at Pine Creek won a prize. Organizers would like to thank Frank May Ski-Doo for six GoPro cameras, Norco for a Makita drill, oxygen acetylene torch kit and the gloves that were given to each racer, Hayden Transport and Brett Ellingford for gas containers, Mastiff Machine and Chet’s Carpet Cleaning for Klim gloves, 509 goggles and fuel containers, R360 for shop towels, rubber gloves and fuel containers, Cycle City for helmets and goggles and Morgan Valley Polaris for the helmet and hoodies.

VSHA organizers plan to have six or seven races next year, dependent on continued growth. This last season was a great success due to the help from Dustin and Kadee Jo Blair, Brett and Robin Ellingford and Carson and Sami Ellingford.

The association is looking for more racers, so get your sleds out of the barn and check out one of their events. There is a final race scheduled for April 23 at Beaver Mountain Ski Resort in Utah. Results for the year-end Points Championship will be available before the April 23 event.
