It’s peak buying season, and if you’re like me, you are scouring the Internet, dealerships, snow shows and more to find the best deals on the newest clothing and snowmobile add-ons. Do you get the feeling the snowmobile business took a cue from Walmart and is releasing things earlier each year? It’s like we have advertisements for Christmas sales during Jet-Ski season!
When it comes to sled news though, I’m not complaining! Big recent news included Arctic Cat unveiling a possible new
2017 snow vehicle that looks like a dirt bike conversion kit for snow, but it is actually a single-purpose snow vehicle. Ski-Doo introduced a new roller primary clutch for its
race sled, and it will likely be on a few production models in 2017. FOX revealed plans for their
QS3 shock technology, which might include on-the-fly electronic adjustment on the handlebars. The aftermarket is showing off hot possibilities too, like
Racewerx’s new tunnel for the Polaris AXYS chassis, and the new
Black Diamond Pro Lite extreme sleds that are futuristic stuff!
There are always new products released in the fall before the snow really starts flying, but this year in particular welcomes a plethora of new product releases. All bodes well for the future of our sport. If manufacturers and aftermarket companies are investing in new products, they’re betting the industry will remain healthy.
In this issue, we’ve got all kinds of new
products for your snowmobiling family and friends in our annual Gift Guide and Tow Jam sections. We will be testing all kinds of the hottest products on the snow this winter as well, so keep an eye out for tests in the magazine and here on our website.
The holidays are coming quickly, so check out what you NEED on your list!
