Old school MXZ

Q I have a 2002 Ski-Doo MXZ 600. When I bought the sled, I removed the sway bar, because I was having problems with it staying connected. After I removed the sway bar, the sled felt very soft and it wants to tip easily. I just rebuilt the front shocks, thinking that would stiffen the front-end a bit. To my disappointment, it didn’t. Now I’m thinking if I put on some stiffer shock springs that should fix the problem. I’ve done a lot of looking around, and I’m having a hard time finding an answer. What would I need as far as spring height, and tension, and who sells just springs that would work? Thank you for your help! Can’t wait to hit the trails! – Matt, East Bethel, Minn.

A Matt, removal of the sway bar will cause the issues you are having, adding stiffer springs will only add to a stiffer ride and have minimal effect on the rolling in the corners. The simple fix is to re-install the sway bar and determine why it was not staying connected, and then work on your spring and shock adjustments from there. – Jason Houle, Straightline Performance
