Yamaha is returning to snocross for the 2006/2007 World Power Sports Association (WPSA) national series with a factory suported effort competing in the Pro Open Class. Yamaha has signed Boss Racing and superstar Robbie Malinoski, 2006 WPSA Pro Stock and Pro Open champion, to pilot its Nytro based, 3 cylinder, 4-stroke snocross Open Class sleds for this race season.

"Our goals this year are simple: we want to prove our 4-stroke sled has the performance to be competitive, and we will use our snocross experience to improve future Yamaha snowmobiles," said Yamaha Snowmobile Race Manager Greg Marier.

Veteran racer and 2006 Japanese National Snocross Champion Yuji Nakazawa will also be making a North American comeback this year. Both racers will work out of the Yamaha/Boss Racing trailer, providing their engineering support team with constant feedback on the 4-stroke test sleds.
