Yamaha has announced it will offer an extended service plan for all its new sleds. The plan is aimed at riders who don't have time to fix sleds themselves and don't want the hassles of a limited service program.
All new Yamaha snowmobiles already come with a one-year warranty, but the Yamaha Extended Service plan, or Y.E.S., extends service for up to five years. And the Yamaha reps assure buyers that it covers not just the drive train, but almost every repair imaginable.
In addition to the coverage, Y.E.S. plans have a feature called T.R.I.P, or Travel and Recreation Interruption Protection. This benefit covers owners in the case of an unforeseen breakdown that causes the rider to incur extra expenses such as renting a sled to complete a trip, food, or to pay for extra nights out. (Maximum pay-out is $150 per occurance.)
