Jan. 4, 2006 - - Yamaha announced today that it will put up more than $100,000 in racing contingency money this year for its racers.
"We're serious about continuing our 4-stroke race program on the enduro and oval circuits and expanding into cross-country for 2006," said Yamaha's snowmobile race manager Greg Marier.
Yamaha will offer contingency prize money for racers competing on stock-appearing RX-1 or Apex models in select Pro and Semi Pro classes on the MIRA, USSA, WSA Xtreme Ice and USCC circuits this season, with extra prizes for the Soo I-500, Eagle River Derby and Red Lake I-500.
Prizes are set as follows:
Enduro races: Soo I-500
1st Place: $7,500 • 2nd Place: $2,000 • 3rd Place: $1,000

1st Place: $2,000 • 2nd Place: $1,000 • 3rd Place: $500
