Industry sources say that the World Snowmobile Association is in the process of being sold. The WSA, which oversees hundreds of snowmobile races each year including several snocross circuits, hillcross events, and watercross events will reportedly soon become part of a new company called World PowerSports Inc.
The acquisition is to take place within two months and a newly formed WPS is expected to conduct summer ATV races and possibly moto-cross and cross-country events, in addition to its current WSA schedule. A film production company also is to be affiliated with the new WPS.
Neither WSA, nor the potential buyer, have confirmed the sale's terms or if there will be any changes in the WSA management structure, events, coverage, rules, or regulations.
Phone calls to current WSA executives regarding the changes have not been returned.
