The World Powersports Association announced this week that Junior riders will be permitted to race more than one class for the upcoming 2006-2007 WPSA Snowmobile Championship Tour season. Young riders will be allowed to ride in the 120 Champs class and 300cc class, in turn, 300cc class racers will be able to race in the 10-13 Fan class. Also, 14-15 class riders can run in the 16-17 class and 16-17 riders can race in the Sport Stock class.
This decision was made to give up-and-coming riders more track time and to help them gain competitive experience. Drivers will have to submit a racing resume prior to the race weeekend and the Tour's Race Director will base his or her decision of who can race in what class primarily according to individual experience level.
