The excitement is building around Eagle River's annual World Championship Snowmobile Derby this year, with new announcements and a schedule of events for the Jan. 13-16 event.
Action will begin at 10 a.m. Thursday with World Championship and Pro Stock 440 time trials, followed by more qualifying rounds for the Formula I Open and Pro Stock races. At 6 p.m., the FSX Freestyle riders will perform. They'll be judged and the best will be chosen to perform in the finals Friday night.
Friday night features the FSX Freestyle competition and Parts Unlimited's Friday Night Thunder, with Snocross, Ice Oval, Mini 120s, Big-bore motorcycles, Formula 1 open and Vintage racing.
The qualifying rounds for the World Championship start Saturday at 1 p.m., where the field will be narrowed to 10 finalists. Pro Open snocrossers also will race for a place in Sunday's finals.
