This weekend in Aspen, Colo. is sure to bring some shouts and screams, let's hope they are out of joy and amazement! The excitement has been building and the time is now for 32 athletes to compete in the Winter X Games 11 Snocross competition.
The action begins at 7 p.m. MST tonight, with Round 1 qualifying at Buttermilk Mountain. The event will be telecast on ESPN, beginning at 9:30 p.m. EST.
Round 1 will pit the 32 athletes against each other in 4 heats of 8 riders each. The top-2 finishers in each 6-lap heat will transfer to the final.
The next 6 finishers in each heat will move to Round 2 of qualifying being held Saturday, beginning at 12:30 p.m. MST. This round will consist of 2 heats with 12 riders. The top-2 finishers of each heat will also receive one of the 12 spots in the final. Coverage of Round 2 will be telecast on ABC beginning at 1 p.m. EST.
The 20-lap final is scheduled for Saturday at 8:15 p.m. MST. It will be telecast on ESPN on Saturday, beginning at 9 p.m. EST.
