Chuck Decker- 1987
The only one of four Decker brothers to earn the title of "Best Snowmobiler in the World," Chuck Decker took the lead at the end of lap six in the 1987 feature race and never lost it. To him, the win was especially meaningful.

"There were a lot of years of Deckers trying to win," he says. "It was definitely the biggest race for me. Racing at that level is very intense. All the drivers are true professionals. You have to have the best mechanics, best equipment and most experience to win."

In only a year, Decker went from winning the World Championship race to owning the World Championship track. He didn't have to win the race to buy the track, but the win gave him the experience necessary to run a race worthy of its title. Proof that quality goes with the Decker name is the fact that seven sleds with parts from the Decker's family performance shop have been driven to victory in World Championship races. For example, Dave Wahl, the 1990 World Champion won with Decker exhaust pipes. (Note: Chuck sold his portion of the performance shop to his brothers in 1988.)
