wingnut and ollie muddy feet

Amsnow
I go through the ditch, pull the cut back, miss the little tree, YES, I made it. As I cleared the top of the hill, oh &^*%!!!, pin the throttle, BAIL, flap the arms (try to fly), pray a bit, impact!  At this point I would like to point out that it is a good idea to know what is at the top of the hill before you pin the throttle and go tearing up the hill. As I topped the hill I saw a hole. Not a small hole mind you, a sled eating, leg breaking monster hole with my name all over it. The sled goes airborne and pancaked into the other side with such force it slammed me into the bars then I rolled off the back of the Apex like one of those little rollie pollie bugs. It was at this point I realized what was at the bottom of the sled eating hole, MUD, lots and lots of gooey mud. There was enough water on top to make a nice splash when I hit. Now I am like a turtle that someone placed on its back, flailing arms and legs. Hoping beyond hope that the sled doesn't flip over backwards and land on me.

I stand up in about 8 inches of mud, trying to figure out what just happened.  As I stand in my not so honey hole, I can see where the ski‘s took flight and the track jumping the mud but not the entire hole. Oh crud, I hear Ollie's sled fire up. I start to pray a little here also. Whatever you do, don't let Ollie follow my tracks. Luckily Ollie decide to head over to the other side of the little tree which put him safely off to the side of the sled eating hole I am standing in. Ollie and his wife pull up to see me standing in the mud at the bottom of the hole. Ollie asks me why I am standing in the mud and my clever response is, I hear mud baths were good for the skin and they just laugh and point at me and laugh some more.

I asked Ollie if he wanted to join in the fun. For some reason he declined. Getting the sled out was actually pretty easy, which was a good thing. I didn't relish the thought of having to pull the sled out of the hole by hand. We just pulled it straight sideways and it was an easy ride out.
The sad part was, the area I was trying to get into was pretty small and we tore it up in about 15 minutes and had to ride right back out the way we came in.
Oh well, live and learn.

This is one we will be laughing about for years.
For all the mess, it was still funny as all get out.
