A new Web site has been launched that can help snowmobilers, or just folks looking for "Up North" accommodations find a place to stay - or buy.
Lakeplace.com lists more than 2,200 waterfront family resorts and private cabin rentals in Minnesota and Wisconsin. Some are choice spots for snowmobilers in winter and others are great summertime getaways.
In addition, the site offers more than 5,700 lake properties for sale, in case you want to buy a spot to use as your snowmobiling home away from home. The second home market is the fastest growing real estate market currently and the average price of a lakefront home in Minnesota is now $374,900, while Wisconsin's average price is $329,900, according to Lakeplace.com.
Dane Charles, who represents Lakeplace.com, says the firm, based in Richfield, Minn., plans to begin offering information on Michigan lakefront properties and rentals later this year.
