The IWA World Championship Watercross ran recently in Grantsburg, Wis., on a rainy Sunday morning. Among the standouts at the event were Straightline Performance's Howie Steenburg who won the Pro Stock AND Pro Open oval finals. Steenburg had retired but came back to give the championship just one more shot. Steenburg - long-time friend and employee of Straightline Performance's owner Jason Houle - put together a winning package for the weekend, relying on his years of experience.
Steenburg also took 4th in the weekend's Mod drags, and Houle - competing in only his third watercross event - took the Stock 800 drag championship. Another Straightline sponsored racer, and last year's world champion, Andy Busse, was strong again this year, taking second in the Mod drags and second in the Pro Stock oval.
