U.S. Trailmaps has completed the deal AmSnow reported on earlier this fall, establishing a GPS provider for Magellan.
U.S. Trailmaps is a licensed GPS solutions provider for Magellan and now is making its snowmobile trail maps available to Magellan. The maps can be used in the Magellan Triton Explorist and Crossover GPS devices. U.S. Trailmaps developed GPS maps on a state by state basis several years ago, and the Trailplan software now is able to be used in Magellan's devices which offer the user, full interactivity with select Magellan GPS receivers, searchable trails, land areas and points of interest (POIs), trail-related businesses, detailed roads, hydrography and more.
You will be able to buy these products later this year for $29.99 per state.
"This venture represents the first time that inclusive recreational trail systems have been available in detail for GPS navigation systems," said U.S. Trailmaps Vice President Mark Voss. "Our goal is to provide trail users with up-to-date, relevant and accurate information so that they can safely enjoy the outdoors. Being able to identify rest stops, food service and medical care stations takes much of the apprehension out of exploring a new trail."
