Olav Aaen: In the Touring lineup I really liked the FST because of its turbo. When we tested out West it was one of the fastest sleds in the mountains with that turbo. It had plenty of power. I mean, it was peppy for a touring sled, and it rode nicely too. I like speed and I could smoke people with it.
Mark Savage: Here's the deal. We nearly had to pry each test rider's fingers from the TZ1's handlebars every time it came time to rotate to a different sled during testing. Everyone found it that comfortable and easy to ride. The engine's flat power curve is tailor-made for cruising, yet it's strong enough to pull you up not only major hills, but a mountain, if needed. Creature comforts are superb too. Many of us like the FST's power and the Ski-Doo's light feel, but for two-up comfort you can't beat the Cat.
Les Pinz: Wow, I really liked the LXR. I feel the Cat handled the best, felt the best for ride, and all the options are readily accessible. It's the most luxurious of the touring sleds and with a nice low-rpm and torque 4-stroke motor. Where the FST excels is in power, it really has a lot of power. For a touring sled it has great speed for its class, yet is very smooth. When you have a touring sled like the GSX, it's lighter, but weight is not as critical in a touring sled because you're not tossing it around all that much. What you want here is more like a Cadillac, just a smooth easy ride, and that's what the TZ1 gives you.
