The World Snowmobile Association and the American Snowcross Racing Association have joined forces and merged their Michigan Regional Snocross racing circuits into one. The new, combined race circuit will be called the Woody's Michigan Regional.
The merger allows the association to taken advantage of the best race sites from each circuit as well as eliminates any conflicting race dates between WSA and ASRA competition. This allows racers from both circuits to be able to compete head to head on the same weekend, said Scott O'Malley of the WSA.
In order to compete in the Woody's Regional events, racers will need a WSA membership. Membership applications and information, along with a current race schedule is available at www.wsaracing.com
The first event of the newly formed circuit will be Dec. 6 and 7 at Searchmont in Sault Ste. Marie Ontario. The even will be an ESPN Winter X Games qualifier.
Dec. 13-14 marks the next event at Alpine Valley Ski Resort in White Lake, MI.
This race will also be an ESPN Winter X Games qualifier.
