AmSnow.com is now SnoWest.com
Bottom lineWhich do I prefer? This is an easy cop-out as both offer different features that I like- and dislike.
Frankly, the Superclamp is easier to adjust, but being made of metal it'll require more care - especially in the lubricating of the spring and lever assembly, which may be prone to corrosion from road salt. Weight-wise, the Superclamp is more ponderous initially, but when you add in the weight of your tie down bar to the Kwik Klamp, it becomes a moot point. They both do a nice job of holding your sled in place. Both are cleverly designed.
Since we are just now outfitting our trailer with the devices, we can't comment on how they'll hold up over a season of trailering through snow, salt and ice!
If it comes down to price, the Kwik Klamp would win, as it's available at various retailers from $59.95 to $69.95 while the Superclamp goes for $119.95. The Superclamp deck mount pieces are optional and retail for $10 to $12, depending on whether you opt for the screw mount or channel deck mount device. Some snowmobile manufacturers, like Yamaha, offer this device through its dealers.
