GPS coming soon
U.S. Trailmaps anticipates being able to put its software into handheld Garman GPS units soon. At press time, slightly smaller memory GPS units were available, but larger memory systems were in the works and U.S. Trailmaps is poised to have its software available for these new units.

Relatively low memory GPS systems are now in many cars, cell phones and other electronic devices. I remember being in basic training and using GPS devices in combination with night vision goggles for field training. This was high-tech in the mid-1990's, but hardly anymore.

What will be incredible is having dozens of different maps available to download onto your handheld GPS receiver with all the detailed information that previously was only available for use on larger computers. AmSnow will keep you updated on any new advances and don't be surprised to see this mapping software and GPS as an option on OEM sleds soon. At the least, this will be a great navigation and safety aid for sledders to take with them on the trail.
