trail mod v htg racings 600 xc sp

This year, Rob Schooping and the team at HTG Racing brought us a slightly tweaked out 600 XC SP. OK, maybe a 20 hp gain isn't "slightly tweaked" for most, but in HTG terms, this sled is indeed gently modified.
"Our goal for this project was to make some performance improvements on the 600 VES engine," commented Shooping. "We didn't do anything radical in the engine so it is totally trailable. Consumers can ride all day and fill up at the gas stations on the trail"
Our HTG test sled used the stock flat slide carbs with a set of V-Force reeds on the intake. The engine mods consisted of only trail porting work. Shooping didn't even bump compression.
A Sled Shop clutch kit allows the stock P-85 clutches to transfer the 132 or so ponies from the crank to the track.
The whole package, including 192 Woody's studs, comes in under $2,000.
