the jay hawk

Amsnow
Bob Cat Manufacturing Company was located in North Scituate, Rhode Island. It introduced its line of snowmobiles in 1975, at a time when many brands had dropped out of the market. The company was convinced that its "JayHawk" lineup had overcome the problems encountered by other manufacturers. Thus, four models were built and were the JH-340, JH-440, JH-340 SF and JH-440 SF.

All models were powered by the Kohler "AX" two cylinder engine
and had 15-inch tracks. The JH models had a bogie wheel suspension while the JH-SF models sported something called the "Super Flexion"
suspension. All models had the same length, width, height and weight dimensions. The Jay Hawk was described as a lightweight machine, featuring an all-aluminum frame and a fiberglass hood. Standard features included a kill switch and a dimmer switch, as well as a new rear suspension which eliminated rear end roll. By all accounts, this sled did not last more than a few years.
