Team Arctic's Aaron Scheele announced his intention to retire following the end of the current race season, citing time away from his family as the main reason for his departure. "The intensity is getting very high," he said in a statement. "To stay competitive, a lot of hours are needed on the road."
Among Scheele's many successes in racing are four high point championships in the MRP Pro Ice circuit, a second place finish in his first ISOC Iron Man race. He also traveled to Russia in '98 to represent the US at the third stop of the Russian Snocross Championship.
In addition to his work on the track, Scheele has been a mentor and advisor for many of the up-and-coming members of Team Arctic. "A lot of younger racers looked to Scheele as a role model," commented Team Arctic Race Manager Brian Sturgeon. "His demeanor off-track is first class all the way and he brings a lot to the table outside of simply his talents as a driver."
