Redefined Shock Valving
Cat's officials told us that the shock valving on the ZRs has been softened up just a titch, to put it in line with the rest of the product offering. On a 1-10 range, the Smart Ride covers from the softest possible to just over half 1 to 6.5. The ZL valving is set to run the span from 2 to 5. The ZR covers 3 to 8. Those who want a little more should go for the Cross Country machines, which fall in the 6 to 9 range. Finally, the Sno Pro runs from about 8 to 10.
