Final Analysis
The end result of our experiment was nothing short of phenomenal! The 700SX was transformed from a good handling sled to one of the best handlingsnowmobiles we had ever ridden. Yamaha's Öhlins shocks are excellentand have to be experienced to be appreciated.
The Rocket Roller secondary clutch from Maxximum Performance is muchmore efficient than the factory clutch, providing a noticeable improvementin low and mid-range acceleration while providing an excellent back-shift.
The fruits of our labor bore us one sweet machine! With all the changes-shocks, clutch, control rods and upgraded skis- our 700 SX was transformedinto a quick, super smooth sled that handled like an Indy car. Of all thecomponents we changed on our 700 SX the two that made the biggest difference,and the two that we recommend as "must-haves" were the skis fromUSI, and the Vmax Quick Rods from Maxximum Performance (see pages 107-109in American Snowmobiler's 1997 September issue). The rest was just frostingon the cake.
