The snowmobiling community recently announced it has stepped up its Federal lobbying effort with its Friends of Snowmobiling Political Action Committee. "The Friends of Snowmobiling has been established as a voluntary, non-profit, unincorporated, political association," explained the International Snowmobile Manufacturers Association Executive Director, Ed Klim.
"The purpose of the PAC is to provide a means for individuals to give financial support, on a voluntary basis, to political candidates and committees at the federal level. The committee will support individuals seeking election or re-election at the national level who understand the concerns and important issues of snowmobiling community throughout the United States. The goals of the committee are to encourage and support better government by supporting candidates for federal office that understand and support issues related to responsible snowmobiling.
The committee will operate as a separate, segregated fund, as authorized by the Federal Election Campaign Act. The committee is not affiliated with any political party or organization."
The committee is accepting personal contributions, which can be sent directly to the committee office. The committee will make great efforts to collect and analyze information as to the various candidates and review any of their requests for political contributions before sending any contribution supporting their candidacy for federal office.
"Members of the snowmobile community have a long history of involving themselves in public policy decisions," added Klim This federal PAC is the first step for the community in actively supporting candidates that understand and support snowmobile issues."
