snowmobiling in the bullseye white river forest

The White River Forest Draft Environmental Impact Statement (DEIS) for travel management was released for a 90-day comment period on July 28, 2006 and winter travel/snowmobiling is being addressed as never before in this DEIS. To get updated on the situation visit www.cohvco.org.

The White River Forest is located along the I-70 corridor, and is the most recreated forest in the National Forest Service system. It is the first Colorado forest to address winter travel in detail and it will not be the last! So get involved now!

The plan will designate trails that snowmobiles must stay on and play areas that snowmobiles must stay within. All OHV, Off Highway Vehicles, that travel in the White River Forest year round, including both motorized and mechanized (mountain bikes) will be on designated trails.

Find out more and ask questions at this years' Snow Show in Denver on Oct. 7 & 8 or at www.fs.fed.us/r2/whiteriver/projects/travel_management/. For additional info call 800-457-2434.
