snowmobiling has major economic impact in the snowbelt

Amsnow
Recent economic impact studies done by a variety of Universities show that snowmobiling related activities are generating more than $25 billion in economic activity in the U.S. snowbelt and Canada.

Also, about 10% of all traveler spending in the snowbelt can be directly related to snowmobiling, according to the university studies.

More than 2.3 million snowmobiles were registered in North America during the 2003-04 season, an increase of 43% over the last two decades, according to a release from the International Snowmobile Manufacturers Association.

This increase in numbers of snowmobilers is expected to help the tourism industry in the snowbelt as well. ISMA reports that an average snowmobiler spends $88.30 per day while snowmobiling, and the average travel group's size is 5, with an average trip length of 2.5 days.

Also, more than 95,000 jobs are directly related to snowmobiling.
