snow flake 400

Amsnow
The Snow Flake 400 was manufactured in the late 1960s and early 1970s
by the Feldman Engineering and Manufacturing Company of Sheboygan Falls, Wisconsin. It looked very much like the Sno-Pony, manufactured by Couparral Corp. during the same period, except that the Sno-Pony was fitted with a transverse front spring arrangement with the skis mounted at each end of the spring. The Snow Flake used the conventional spring and ski configuration with the exception of the steering spindles, which were mounted outside of the body.

Features on the Snow Flake were many, as the entire snowmobile industry
came around to the idea that they could sell a lot more sleds if snowmobiling was seen as a family sport. Among its features were high carbon wear bars, a wrap-around windshield, a one-piece enamel finish, and a large, 5-inch thick cold-tested foam seat. It seems that the "seat of the pants" test was as important to snowmobilers more than 25 years ago as it is now.
