AmSnow: How did you first start in freestyle?
Parsons: Several years ago when Heath Frisby and I raced snocross together we used to go out to the track between races and just try new tricks. After the 2007 season he asked me to do a demo freestyle tour with him and neither of us have looked back since.

AmSnow: Why are you different than the stereotypical freestyle rider?
Parsons: I think there's several tiers of professionalism in any sport, freestyle is no different. You have guys who don't take care of their stuff, their image, or themselves and that's not good for the sport. From my sled set-up, to holding a clean image, I take it all seriously. It's important to me, and the sport, to be professional.

AmSnow: What is the toughest thing about Freestyle competitions?
Parsons: I find, especially with a great season like I had last year, people start to think you are indestructible. Especially in Europe, they think they can build these unbelievable courses and expect that you will just be fine. Basically, you need to still stay smart and if there's something that you don't think is safe or that you don't feel comfortable doing, DON'T DO IT. My dad helps out with my safety coordination too.

AmSnow: Freestyle seems like a young man's sport. What are your future plans?
Parsons: It is, but for now I am trying to keep a balance between riding and business and not get burned out. I took up golf this summer and that's a great release. Also, I would like to be done with the majority of my Freestyle competing by age 25. Then maybe work out a deal to help younger guys as a coach, or mentor, or sponsor or something.

AmSnow: Where do you see the sport of Freestyle going?
Parsons: Freestyle needs more TV coverage to open people's eyes to what riders can do. The sport is really progressing; I mean, look at Levi doing a double backflip! But we need more exposure, money, sponsorship and help from OEMs and others to create new ramp sleds, and new courses to help the sport progress even more.
