THE LOWDOWNWe can see the upper Midwest farm boys having a blast on these sleds! The Freestyle is a low-cost, 45-50 mph top speed, ergonomically comfortable and stylish runabout. We wouldn't suggest taking the Freestyle on an extended trip, but 60-100 mile family day trips could certainly be handled comfortably.
That said, certain cost saving areas on the machine were obviously necessary and show up in simpler handlebars, hood latches and the lack of a standard speedo and tach. Even so, Ski-Doo hit its goal of producing a solid economical hybrid.
