skidoo recall notice

Amsnow
BRP is conducting a voluntary safety recall on certain 2008 Ski-Doo models, mailing notices to potentially affected customers. Only a certain number of new REV-XP sleds were affected during a short production period, and the recall doesn't affect simply one specific model.

BRP found that a small quantity of fuel tanks may develop a crack permitting liquid fuel and/or fuel vapor to leak, which could ignite. Another part of the recall includes the throttle cable. Its adjustment is screwed down in the carburetor bracket, the end of the cable may eventually interfere with the carburetor lever mechanism. In that situation, if the throttle is opened sufficiently, the throttle cable end could potentially interfere with the throttle lever and possibly prevent the throttle lever returning freely to idle. This could cause loss of speed control.

If your sled is affected by this recall, immediately stop using it and call an authorized BRP dealer to fix the problem. There will be no charge. If you are concerned whether your sled is affected, please contact your local BRP dealer, or visit www.ski-doo.com to find a local dealer, or call, 1-888-638-5397 (US and Canada), 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. EST.
