In the continuing personnel shuffle through the race community, Ski-Doo has named Bill Fullerton as race manager for both Ski-Doo snowmobiles and Sea-Doo watercraft. Fullerton brings 35 years of snowmobile and watercraft experience as both a competitor and team manager. He has also owned and operated Northland Recreation, a successful dealership in Windermere, Ontario, since 1981. Fullerton takes over from Maurice Murray, who will remain with Bombardier, managing special projects for Team Ski-Doo. Both Murray and Fullerton will report to the Vice President of Marketing.
Fullerton, 46, was born in Los Angeles and grew up in Ontario, Canada. He began racing Ski-Doo snowmobiles in 1967, winning the first race he entered. After spending several years racing grass drags, oval and cross country, Fullerton managed several national level motocross and snowmobile teams with great success. In 1981, he bought his dealership and continued to race competitively and support racers in snowmobile, motocross and watercraft racing events throughout North America. He recently sold Northland Recreation.
"We`re pleased to welcome Bill aboard," said Pierre Arsenault, vice president of marketing for Bombardier Recreational Products. "He brings a great deal of experience from two very important perspectives- that of the racer and the dealer involved in racing. We look forward to doing great things in the coming months and years."
"This is an exciting time to join Team Ski-Doo, and to be honest, it's a dream job for me," stated Fullerton. "I can`t wait to get started. Moving to Wausau and continuing to plan our strategy are tops on my list right now. It's going to be a great season for us!"
Citing the significant travel requirements of the racing manager position, Murray initiated a conversation several months ago with senior management regarding his current family situation where he and his wife expect the arrival of their second child in January.
"With the success we've had in the past year, it was a difficult decision to leave this position," said Murray. "But with a young family, I really felt I needed to spend more time at home. In my new position, I look forward to working with Bill to make our program even stronger."
