skidoo elite may be fleet answer

Ski-Doo officials will readily admit that they weren't certain how dealers and consumers would react to the new two-passenger, side-by-side Elite. They were confident there would be a market for it as they planned to cautiously unveil it this past spring.

Response from some quarters, though, has exceeded expectations admitted a Ski-Doo spokesman in an interview with American Snowmobiler editor Jerry Bassett. The spokesman noted that rental operators are very keen on the concept.

A rental operator in Yellowstone has already committed to a double-digit purchase of vehicles. The fact that the snowmobile offers side-by-side seating, resembles a "snow car" and is powered by a low-emission 4stroke engine is all very appealing to the rental operator and his customers.

A rental outfit in eastern Canada expects to sell a unique "touring" experience to high-spending European visitors centered on the unique dual-tracked Ski-Doo.
In addition, the Ski-Doo spokesman noted that a number of Elites were requested during the early "pre-season" buying period, even though there were no programs for the side-by-side sled.

The Elite will be produced as a low volume machine, but already has seen its marketers looking to create Elite-specific add-on accessories that have been requested by purchasers. Obviously one requested accessory would be a sound system. Does this mean that Ski-Doo's newest modular helmet will come in an Elite model wired for stereophonic sound?
