In British Columbia, Canada, $50,000 in funding is being given to the British Columbia Snowmobile Federation (BCSF) to develop a strategy to ensure safe and sustainable snowmobiling practices in regards to the conservation of mountain caribou and their habitat.
The BCSF will be working out a strategy, consisting of a public awareness campaign, installing signs indicating closures, developing educational and training material, as well as monitoring snowmobile use, closures and caribou movement.
