savage on sleds get ready

Amsnow
Hey, if there were an award for procrastination, I'd OWN the crown. So don't follow my lead. Instead, do as we say, not as I do.

In this issue, we direct your attention to the garage. That's where all of us should be during the next month, prepping our sleds, our trailers and our psyches. So, if you need a gentle reminder on some points to ponder while out in the shed, check out Tech Editor Olav Aaen's story on p. 42. We also tell you how to install an SLP single pipe and offer tips for converting your trail sled to a mountain machine. For newbies, there's even a story on helmet types, so you can make a more educated choice.

All those How To stories make up our special section, but we also have a suspension tech story, a You Asked Q&A with Arctic Cat engineers and a super Project Sled story focusing on souping up a low-cost Ski-Doo fan.

Plus, it's time to start thinking seriously about WHERE to go on that winter getaway, so we've inserted our new Getaway Guide for you to look over for some inspiration. These are some of OUR favorite spots and we hope you'll try a few out.

Feel free to share YOUR favorite spots with us. Send your favorites to: American Snowmobiler, My favorite getaway, 21027 Crossroads Circle, Waukesha, WI 53186. Or email us at amsnow@amsnow.com and put getaway in the subject line.
