Like many people in the sport of snowmobiling, Todd Myers has a background rich in motorsports. He started racing motocross while stationed in Anchorage, Alaska, with the Air Force for five years. When he moved back to Minnesota in 1996 Myers stuck with motocross for another year before shifting to snowmobile racing.
"My first snowmobile race was a Terrain X race in Ashland, Wis., in which I finished in second place."
While an impressive start, Myers switched to WSA snocross for the '01-'02 race season due to the lack of any significant factory support.
But many great things start small, and this is how it was with C&A Ultra Pro/Myers Racing Inc.
The decision to start a serious snocross race team took time, shaping up during daily discussions over a year and a half as Myers talked with C&A Ultra Pro skis about their marketing strategies. Myers and C&A mutually decided that having a race team would be the most productive way to promote C&A's skis, as well as provide support for the racers working with Todd's racing group, Myers Racing Inc. (also an independent AMSOIL dealer). So the race team was born!
Yet to really get the ball rolling for the team, Todd first talked to "the boss."
"First thing I did was talk to my wife to decide if this was something we wanted to do. Everything I have ever done with my racing has been a decision that we have made together."
