preproduction changes to 2009 skidoos

Amsnow
Ski-Doo's product development team recently released changes to its new 2009 snowmobile lineup. These changes were not revealed in time to make changes to the latest issue of AmSnow, so we are posting them here online to make sure that the word gets out.

Summit model addition
A new Summit Hillclimb Edition model will be added to the summit line of mountain snowmobiles for 2009. This previously unreleased model is strictly a hillclimb sled with HPG Racing Clicker shocks, Pilot 5.7 racing skis, rail stiffeners and 4 rear idler wheels. The all black, 47.1-inch wide, limited build will certainly turn some heads!

GSX and GTX attention
Initially, engineers at Ski-Doo thought that the new GSX buyer would like the single keel Pilot SL (straight-line) skis that were designed for less darting and hunting. However, after more testing the GSX model is being offered with the more aggressive, harder turning, Pilot 5.7 skis.

On the GTX SE, consumers will be happy to hear that heated seats will now come as standard equipment. The driver and passenger can control their seat heaters independently from each other and can choose from high, low and off settings. Also, the sister sled to the SE, the new GTX LE, gets side-panel wind deflectors to help shield the passenger from the wind.
