polaris snowcrossers solidify points standings

Polaris Snocross racer TJ Gulla (Hentges Racing) won Pro Open and came in second in Pro Stock on his IQ race sleds at the Polaris BIR Championship, Jan. 12-14, 2007 in Brainerd, Minn. During the weekend, Brett Bender (Hentges Racing) won Semi-Pro Open, and Derek Ellis (Rocky Mountain Motorsports) won every heat and took the Sport Open title. Polaris racers used the experience to earn valuable points and to tune up for the Winter X Games.

Polaris Pro racers earned numerous top 10 finishes. Saturday, Gulla took first in Pro Open and 4 other Polaris racers finished among the top 8. Levi LaVallee finished third, Mike Schultz (Avalanche Racing) came in seventh and Ross Martin (Judnick Motorsports) came in eighth. Saturday in Pro Stock, Gulla finished second, Martin came in fifth, Schultz took seventh and Shaun Crapo (Scheuring Speed Sports) was ninth.

On Sunday, in Pro Open, Crapo took second, Gulla took fourth, Schultz came in fifth and LaVallee came in eighth. In Pro Stock Schultz took fourth, Gulla was sixth and Martin came in seventh.

Polaris racers had four of the top 10 positions in Pro Open and Pro Stock points.

Next up, the ESPN Winter X Games, January 25-28, 2007 in Aspen, Colo. The next WPSA points race will be the Eastern National at Verona, N.Y., Feb. 10-11, 2007.
