On July 15th, Polaris racer Jeff Cullen won the "Power Adder King of the Tar" title for the third straight year in the National Pro Sled Shootout. He ran a 8.34-second 1/4-mile at 160.9 mph at the ESTA Dragstrip in Cicero, N.Y., aboard his Abbott Powersports/PCS Performance Polaris asphalt sled.
The sled produces around 400 hp with its nitrous oxide-equipped race engine, but was and was paired with a 450-hp Arctic Cat with nitrous and a turbo charger in the final Pro Shootout.
"At national events on good tracks, that sled will run under 8.20 all the time," said David Abbott, team sponsor and owner of F.M. Abbott Power Equipment.
Jeff Cullen plans to compete, along with the other Abbott Powersports/PCS Performance team's Polaris racers, in our American Snowmobiler Magazine Shoot-Out, currently scheduled for Sept. 22nd and 23rd at the Knoll Gas Motorsports Park in Martin, Mich. You shouldn't miss it!
The next NSA races will be August 18th at Maryland International Raceway in Mechanicsville, Md., and Sept. 8th at New England Dragway in Epping, N.H.
