polaris race teams experience winning season

After a successful racing season, Polaris is looking forward to next year. This year the Polaris teams won three year-end championships and 16 Pro podiums in WSA National competition.

Polaris' success is partly led by DJ Eckstrom of the Amsoil/Polaris/Scheuring Speedsports Pro team. Eckstrom won nine podiums and ended the season third overall in Pro Open and fourth in Pro Stock. He continued his winning performance in the Super Snocross Stadium Tour where he captured the year-end crown in Pro Open Mod.

Other top riders in Snocross were TJ Gulla, Justin Tate and Levi LaVallee. Gulla of Team Industries scored four podiums during the season. Tate, a teammate of Eckstrom, struggled early in the season but came through with a Pro Stock victory in Green Bay and a top three year-end finish indoors. LaVallee, of Team Industries, got his chance to shine in Colorado where he won an ESPN Winter X Games gold medal in Hill Cross.

The success of Polaris race teams goes beyond the Pro ranks. Race Team Manager Tom Rager Sr. believes in building a program from the support class ranks. This philosophy was evident with the success of Ross Martin in the Semi-Pro ranks. Martin was dominant indoors during the Super Snocross Stadium Tour and won the year-end championship in Semi-Pro Open.

Because of Polaris' success, Steve Scheuring of Scheuring Speedsports and Tim Bender, race manager for Team Industries Racing, agreed to extend their contracts with Polaris. Scheuring signed a three-year extension and Bender agreed to a two-year extension.
