polaris quietly adds dual carbides to sleds

Polaris has developed a dual runner system of its own as a rolling change for this year's M-10 sleds. The concept is similar to the Precision ski Ski-Doo brought to market this year, but the execution is completely different. Instead of a new molded keel design, the Polaris design uses a bolt on to add the extra runner.
The piece bolts on the ski through the standard wear bar holes, but carries two square host bars with carbide blades welded to a flat plate. They're spaced about an inch apart. We'd estimate each piece weighs about two to three pounds above a normal wear bar.

We noticed the unique-looking piece at the Woody's tent at Hay Days and the Milwaukee Snowmobile USA Show. "Polaris asked us to build these parts for use with the M-10 sleds to help stabilize the steering," said Rob Musselman.
