polaris issues safety recall bulletin

Polaris Industries has issued a Safety Recall Bulletin to dealers concerning all 2002 ProX sleds and 2003 pilot build ProX sleds. The bulletin states that the company has determined that all 2002 440 liquid ProX racer, 440 Fan ProX, 440 ProX rolling chassis, 600 ProX and 2003 Pilot Build ProX machines may experience brake failure under certain conditions. Polaris has sent registered owners notification to bring those affected models to the dealer for brake pad replacement
Those who may have sold an affected ProX sled are encouraged to pass the new owner's contact information to Polaris by calling the Customer Service department at 763/417-8650 or write to:

Our sources tell us there were only 17 reported incidents of the failure, and they all occurred at a sanctioned race track. This recall is said to affect less than 3,000 units total.
