polaris axes 2007 900 rmk motor

Polaris announced today that production of the 2007 900 - 866cc big block engine, which was also the platform for the 755cc engine - will be suspended until further notice. This action came after the final press run of our Winter Wrap-up issue in which we preview all of the new 2007 machines from each of the manufacturers. Readers will see the 900 listed as an available engine option for the RMK in that issue, but this is not the case.

Polaris said that the new '07 RMK chassis is much more rigid than the '06 following great weight reductions for this year. Unfortunately, the added rigidity transmits more engine vibration to the rider. The reconstructed motor mount system - meant to curb this vibration - failed in the last test stages. Therefore, Polaris decided rather than putting faulty machines out into the field, the company would simply stop production.
