Polaris is making difficult decisions and organizational changes to improve their overall business over the next 12-15 months. These changes are aimed at lowering their cost structure, realigning resources and making the company more competitive in the highly competitive ATV segment.
"This was not an easy decision; however we're facing a tougher external environment in the ATV, international and snowmobile markets and need to realign resources throughout the organization," said Polaris CEO Tom Tiller. There were 53 salaried, 24 temporary and intern and contractor positions reduced worldwide, which constitute only 2% of Polaris' total workforce.
"This is part of a three-pronged initiative designed to make Polaris more competitive over the next 12-15 months and we are confident that these changes will allow us to better invest resources into the competitive ATV business, adjacent markets and new product opportunities," Tiller added.
