polaris announces 2008 iq 800

Polaris has announced the late season release of the anticipated 800 IQ will come in late January. An average of less than one unit per dealer will be shipped out in the last couple weeks of January, and dealers have the option to sell the units or use them as demos.
The biggest news is that the 800 will not be a red Dragon edition as Polaris reps had indicated earlier this year. It will instead be a standard IQ. There are several differences including a smaller 1-inch lugged HackSaw track instead of the 1.25-inch RipSaw on a Dragon, and there will be the standard RydeFX HPG shocks instead of the new-for-2008 Air 2.0s, also a normal Dragon feature.
The 11.5-gal. tank from the 2008 RMK will replace the old standard IQ tank on the new 800 IQ and will aid in aggressive cornering for drivers who really hug the tank.
The 3-lb. lighter Freestyle seat will be added too. Polaris says there also is a change in the cooling system - the old RAW hybrid system had cooling that went all the way around the edge-rolls - saves 5-lbs. with a new bulkhead cooler as well. Finally, the standard 800 IQ will have a slightly lower riser than the Dragon.
Cost is $9,699 for the all black sled, which will come with 2009 graphics. Want a sneak peak at '09 graphics? Get to a dealer that has the new 800 IQ in late January!
