Arctic Cat brought a 2006 Bearcat Widetrack "Utility Extreme" asphalt racer to AmSnow's Super Sled Shoot-Out in Brainerd this fall. The sled was prepped at Arctic Cat as team-building exercise to race at our event. You'll see all the details and info on the big sled's best runs in the Shoot-Out coverage in the Feb. issue of AmSnow (set to reach subscribers Jan. 7 and on the newsstand Jan. 17) but here are a few of the details on this super sled.
Arctic Cat Bearcat Widetrack Utility Extreme UTXKey parts changed or modified from stock 2006 Bearcat W/T Turbo model:
T660 turbocharged engine:
• All engine internals are stock production
• Turbocharger is prototype
• Intercooler is larger than stock
• Turbosmart Supersonic blow-off valve
• Fuel injectors are prototype (higher flow)
• Engine computer (ECU) calibration is modified
• Intake tube is custom
• Exhaust manifold and exhaust pipe are custom made and ceramic coated - no muffler
• Intake manifold from non-turbo 660 motor
