Button or Roller

Q I will be running a big triple on the ice next year and I am looking for the best direction advice for my secondary clutch. I have already pretty much planned to be going with an STM 11.25, but I am wondering if I should get a button or roller style for my drag racing? – BCP

A Many drag race guys run the button Arctic Cat style secondaries on ice, grass or asphalt. That being said, the TEAM tied secondary roller style is popular as well. Some of it is really personal preference or what you have more experience, or background working with. We have also worked with Olav Aaen (AmSnow’s tech editor) and several of his roller secondary clutches, which have worked well for many different drag racing applications. STM has also been a major supporter of AmSnow’s Super Sled Shootout for years and we know you can’t go wrong there either. Owner Mark Beyer is a wealth of knowledge and you can email them directly with more questions at supremetool@sbcglobal.net -AmSnow Experts
