There's a new name in snowmobile watercross - the Eastern Watercross Association, which will feature classes for all levels from beginner to Pro.
Started by former competitors Herb Yancey and Scott Mosher, the new organization will feature the Camoplast Eastern Watercross Series with races planned in New York, Canada and New Hampshire. The series is designed to run in combination with several large grass drag races and powersports shows.
Yancey and Mosher say one of the organization's goals is to bring more new drivers into the sport. "There is a definite lack of new drivers coming into the sport. The only way to make snowmobile watercross survive is to develop new drivers. … Drivers will have more running time per class because water time is the key to success," they said.
