The National Speed Association, a pro stock asphalt snowmobile drag racing organization, has recently been established. It's goal is to run its own heads-up drag racing circuit.
The new organization is self-governing with its own set of tech rules based on the asphalt snowmobile divisions of the NHRA and IHRA. It plans to run two separate asphalt drag racing divisions this year.
The NSA Pro Stock Snowmobile Series is scheduled to consist of three event qualifiers at various IHRA sanctioned tracks, with points totaled after the final event. The top eight riders will be invited to the Amalie Oil IHRA North American Nationals at the New England Dragaway in Epping, N.H., in September.
The NHRA Northeast Division Pro Stock Snowmobile points series is scheduled to consist of six events, with a points champion crowned at the last event.
